Iets dat natuurlijk ontzettend goed werkt op zaken als pijnlichaam, ego, e.d., waardoor dit voor velen ook makkelijk mee-/invoelbaar zal zijn. De gescheiden Calum (Mescal) is met zijn elfjarige dochter Sophie (indrukwekkend debuut van Corio) op vakantie in Turkije. De twee hebben het schijnbaar naar hun zin, maar zijn vaker in het naburige all-inclusive hotel te vinden dan in hun eigen, nogal armoedige onderkomen. En er broeit iets bij Calum, al moet de kijker zelf uit snippers informatie opmaken wat dat zou kunnen zijn. Sterk filmdebuut van de Schotse schrijver/regisseur Wells, die in dit ogenschijnlijk alledaagse familiedrama langzaam maar vol zelfvertrouwen toewerkt naar het levensechte en aangrijpende slot. Oscarnominatie voor hoofdrolspeler Paul Mescal.
